Abusive Head Trauma (Course Number 2103427N)
Abusive head trauma can cause permanent damage and death. Dr. Bruce McIntosh, statewide medical director of the Child Protection Team System, gives an overview of the statistics of incidence of abusive head trauma, the injuries that can occur and clinical findings. The training will establish that abusive head trauma is real and really happens to vulnerable children in Florida. Participants will learn how medical professionals confirm the diagnosis and receive a review of the Guardian ad Litem role in protecting victim's from further injury.
The course, Course Number 2103427N, is approved for 1 CLE credit with certification in Juvenile Law by The Florida Bar until October 31, 2022.
