News: Government-Wide Ban Proposed on Stock Trading

During an appearance on NewsNation's "The Hill Sunday," Stutzman argued that public officials must "live above reproach" and that implementing a stock trading ban is a necessary step to restore public trust in government.

Stutzman noted that he has already divested his own publicly traded stocks to avoid potential conflicts of interest and suggested that other members of Congress should follow suit.

These remarks were made shortly after the U.S. Office of Government Ethics released financial disclosures revealing that President Trump had participated in extensive financial transactions earlier in 2026, totaling between $220 million and $750 million in securities.

Christopher Bond reports on a proposal by Representative Marlin Stutzman (R-Ind.) advocating for a total ban on stock trading for all three branches of the U.S. government-the legislative, executive, and judicial branches.
