This YouTube video is an unboxing / review / opening, showing the contents and what's inside (comparing with Tanya Burr's), following the negative press, scandal and reviews that Zoella (Zoe Sugg) has had this week. The viral YouTube video by Jack Maate (JaackMaate) was especially bad (Zoella's £50 Advent Calendar, Honest Brutal Review / Scam by JaackMaate, as featured in the Daily Mail - a very nasty review). Poundland have now made their own version - I want one!

I’ve always been a big fan of Zoella and her YouTube videos / vlogs / vlogmas, I’ve watched her vlogs for years. So I’ve felt a bit sorry for her this week when she was attacked in the press for some tweets (Twitter backlash) she posted years ago and her overpriced 'All You Need Is Xmas' advent calendar originally at £50 (not £25).

The press have also enjoyed slating her Zoella Lifestyle range, calling her products ‘expensive tat’, which seems a bit harsh. Zoe and Alfie are understandably rather unhappy about this. But I do think that her Lifestyle products are often a bit expensive. Apart from JaackMaate (Jack Maate), other popular YouTube videos about this topic are by YouTubers such as Eltoria (I love Eltoria and her festival vlogs), ImAllexx, iNabber, Kiera Bridget, Philip DeFranco, Fleur DeForce, What's Trending, WillNE and WNW.

I thought I’d take a look at Zoella's 12 Days of Christmas advent calendar from Boots the Chemist that has been causing so much fuss this week, and do an unboxing / review and opening, to show the contents and what's inside. It was £50 before people started complaining to Boots, and it's now been reduced to £25, which is still a lot of money. Zoella (Zoe Sugg - girlfriend of Alfie Deyes / Pointless Blog) has made it clear that she did not choose the price, but I think she's being a little naive to say that. Poundland have even Tweeted about it on their Twitter!

Also I don’t understand how Zoella's advent calendar can only have 12 doors / 12 days of Xmas, how does opening that in December even work?!! Do you have to buy two? And at the original £50 price tag, that makes each gift just over £4 each. I’m going to compare it with a similar Tanya Burr advent calendar from Superdrug (the 12 Sweet Days Beauty Calendar), which was £30 and has just been reduced to £20. I loved her 2015 and 2016 ones from Superdrug, so I had big hopes for the 2017 one. Watch to see what's inside, and look out for the Poundland beauty one...
