Arrival of Japan’s Emperor and Empress at Tokyo’s SUMO Arena for the final time

Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko arrived at the Kokugikan in Tokyo just before the start of 2nd half action on Day 8 of the 2019 Hatsu Basho and were greeted by many Sumo VIPs and a delighted crowd inside the arena.
This will be the Imperial couple's final visit to see live SUMO since Emperor Akihito will abdicate his throne in April of this year.
