Late Spring Garden Tour || Black Gumbo

Here's our garden overview, sort of a "State of the Garden" tour for late spring, 2019. Come along and spend some time looking at our successes and our challenges, and see why this year has been exceptionally good, and exceptionally disastrous all at the same time. Here I give a tour of all that grows on our humble suburban plot of clay, from vegetables, tomatoes, cucumbers, herbs, beans, eggplants and peppers, to the fruit varieties that bring us joy. We'll show you our figs and our muscadine grape mini-vineyard.

If you have been following us, a lot of the plants will be recognized from this year's how-to videos, and you will see how they are getting along or not. Its always a joy to walk through gardens with one another, I love seeing what you are doing with your gardens, I hope you will enjoy mine with me too.

Harvesting fruits and vegetables will happen! There's fruit out there! Woo!

Black Gumbo shares our suburban, backyard, sustainable gardening efforts. We work a small-scale, typical Zone 9a garden and raised beds, the kind of gardening accessible to all. We tend to take the slice of life approach and hope you will enjoy our family, our dog, our cooking, our adventures, and occasionally some commentary and advice. We love family, joy and friendship, and we invite you to enjoy these things with us!
