Let’s start with some cleaning tips. Keeping your cutter clean and dust free is important because that dust can help cause some static buildup in your machine. You can dust it off the outside shell off with a feather duster or something like that, but you are going to want to use a can of air, or a static free brush when cleaning around the grit rollers and input ports.
When it comes to cleaning the pinch rollers off you just want to make sure that you don’t have any vinyl stuck on the wheels. If the vinyl is really stuck on their I suggest using a weeding pick to get it off so you don’t accidently dig into the rubber of the wheel with your nail like I did.
While we are on the subject of pinch rollers, some of them may not be the easiest thing to move some times. I always keep a can of WD-40 around for whenever I open up a new vinyl cutter to lube the pinch rollers. If possible you want to use the dry lube kind to prevent any type of rusting, but it didn’t get here in time for me to use it for this video so here we are with .
They will move much easier once you’ve applied the lube and only use it when necessary. You don’t want to overuse it and turn your cutter into lubricated mess.
Also its very important that when you are moving the pinch rollers you are applying pressure at the top an bottom of the roller. Pushing with while only using the bottom or top of the roller with uneven force could lead to the rollers becoming stuck or possibly breaking. You can see that when I am moving the pinch rollers I am using two fingers with a finger pressing on the top half and the second on the bottom half of the roller. This will prevent the roller from getting stuck or breaking.
If you ever break a pinch roller you can purchase a replacement and put on yourself.
With the MH cutter you can unscrew this screw and then slide on the pinch rollers because of this design here, but for all of our other cutters you will need to take the side panels off and we’ve got step by step instructions for you at SUPPORT@USCUTTER.COM if you ever need those.

One of the most common issues I would see when I would answer the telephone is that people would leave the machine plugged in and a person or pet would then trip over the power cord or USB cord and bend the USB port. When not using you machine I highly recommend that you unplug everything to prevent an issue like this from happening.
