Looking youthful is a difficult balancing act but there are plenty of over 40 women doing it well. For a youthful pick-me-up, give your black outfits a break and test out pops of colors. You can keep things simple with one shade or have fun with multiple hues such as the lady at 0:15, 0:56 and 1:36 (the lady with the orange leather bag...perfection). Another tip to try is tailoring. French women make frequent trips to their tailor for alterations, something I learned from my French friends. I have been having my shirts/tops' hem taken up since then...even an inch can make a big difference, as a too long top can overwhelm a petite frame like mine for example. Your entire wardrobe can get an instant upgrade with tailoring (a topic I will cover in another video). this is an affordable way of looking your best in your clothes. A dash of daring in the form of leather pants or a skirt can also make years disappear. The ladies at 1:05 and 2:30 are perfect examples of this. They look very trendy without trying too hard. A modern haircut makes a difference too. For example, the lady at 4:49 with her short gray hairdo looks divine. A shorter cut thickens and gives body to thinning hair. A modern haircut and regular trims keeps it modern and youthful. The bottom line is there is no need for a major change. If you are in great shape and feel great in your skinny jeans, why not wear them? The ladies at 1:23, 1:28, 2:05, 3:38 look amazing. My favorite look? The lady in the mini skirt with opaque tights, ankle boots and a beanie. Fabulous and youthful! Have a beautiful weekend.
