Amazing Inca Stonework, The Twelve Angle Stone on Hatunrumiyoc in Cusco, Peru (Mini Documentary)
The Inca Empire are most widely known for their incredible feats of construction and stonework. Cusco was the Ancient capital of the Inca Empire and is best known as the city one stays in when visiting Machu Picchu. However, setting a day or two aside to explore Cusco can offer so much more insight into the incredible and mysterious history of the Incas.
One of the Inca's greatest pieces of stonework is located on a street called Hatun Rumiyoc ("the one with the big stone" in Quechua), the 12 Angled Stone is only a 3 minute walk from the city centre, Plaza de Armas. Crowds tend to gather at the stone, which is one of many spectacular Inca sites found in Cusco city.
There is usually a local Cusqueñan dressed as an Inca, he should help you locate the mysterious ancient stone and you can even grab a picture with him!
