Behind the lens: Creation by Laurent Ballesta #WPYInsights | Natural History Museum

Once a year, for just 30 minutes on the night of the full moon, camouflage groupers gather in the Fakarava Atoll in French Polynesia to reproduce.

Discover the work of Wildlife Photographer of the Year 57 Grand Title winner, Laurent Ballesta whose photo captures the fleeting moment of fertilisation. Laurent visited the channel multiple times over five years and spent nearly 3000 hours underwater in order to get this winning shot.
