Public safety redefined amid distrust of police and increase in crime
Adelaido Bernabe Urias, 68, was an ice cream vendor who was killed in late June while working in north Austin. People who bought ice cream from him would call him “little grandpa.” Austin hit 40 homicides by the end of October.
