Wellesley College Ravens 2015
Two common ravens returned to Wellesley College's Science Center to build a nest in the spring of 2015. Their three chicks hatched in early April. Here are brief clips of the nest; the female incubating the eggs; the male feeding the female; and the nestlings at various stages as they grow, get stronger, and test their wings as they fledge. The first two nestlings left for good in the evening of May 23rd. The third left on May 24th. Frost Professor of Environmental Science and Professor of Biological Sciences Nicholas Rodenhouse says "Much can potentially be learned about parental behavior, vocalizations, diet, and more."
