Holi, the most vibrant and joyful festival of India, is all about colors, laughter, and togetherness. But this year, as we woke up in our house at Sushant Lok 1, Gurgaon, something felt different. The streets were unusually quiet, and the excitement that once filled every corner during Holi seemed to be fading. Where were the colors? Where was the music? Had urban life taken over the festive spirit?

Feeling a little disappointed, we realized that the true magic of Holi wasn’t in just celebrating ourselves—it was in experiencing it with a community that still carried the enthusiasm. So, without wasting any time, we decided to head to our apartment, IREO Corridors, Gurgaon, where we had heard a grand Holi celebration was happening. And oh boy, what a contrast it was!

The moment we entered, we were greeted by a riot of colors, splashes of water balloons, and the sound of laughter echoing all around. Families, friends, and kids were drenched in colors, dancing to Bollywood Holi songs, and enjoying delicious festive treats. The air smelled of gujiyas, thandai, and fresh samosas, adding to the festive vibe. It was like stepping into a different world—one where Holi was still celebrated with the same madness and joy that we remembered from childhood.

Despite not feeling well, Amreen and I knew we had to be there for Inaaya. Holi is more than just a festival; it’s about making memories, passing on traditions, and giving our children the same joy we experienced growing up. Seeing Inaaya’s excitement as she ran around with her friends, playing with colors and enjoying the festival, made everything worth it. The way her face lit up when she smeared colors on us, the sound of her laughter—it was priceless.
