Create your own “Windswept Landscape” (Keshikifu) at Workshop Ame (雨; rain) in Kamakura, Japan—a unique form of landscape-style flower art inspired by Japanese Ikebana, or flower arrangement. At this charming atelier in Kamakura, you will receive private instruction in crafting your own piece of art, guided by a professional artist. This delicate artwork fits in the palm of your hand and is surprisingly lightweight. At the end of the workshop, you will choose from a selection of custom-made scents, blending unique natural aromas of Japan, to sprinkle on your Keshikifu, turning it into an elegant air freshener.

Located just 5 minutes from Kita-Kamakura Station, the workshop was founded in 2020 by flower artist Norihiko Kamei. It offers a truly exceptional experience. Kamei explains that his work is deeply inspired by the Japanese aesthetic of creating condensed and magnificent microcosmic worlds, a theme also found in bonsai, tea ceremonies, and miniature gardens.
