Yorkhill Quay Glasgow Waters Infrastructure Works Drone Update
Our latest drone footage highlights the strong progress being made by our contractors Advance Construction, on major infrastructure works at Yorkhill Quay, a neighbourhood within Peel Waters' wider Glasgow Waters district.
On site, the new roundabout drainage network has now been completed, including all associated pipework, chambers and connections. This has enabled the team to move seamlessly into the next phase of service installations, keeping works moving at pace and maintaining momentum on programme.
Construction of the roundabout itself is also progressing well, with road and footpath kerbing now installed in line with the approved design. These elements help shape the final layout and prepare the area for the upcoming layers of construction and surfacing.
Across the site, formation build‑up works are continuing, with material placed and compacted in layers to reach the required levels beneath the future tarmac surface. This is a critical step to ensure the long‑term strength, durability and performance of the new roads.
Significant progress has also been made on drainage outfalls, with two new connections installed through the existing retaining wall, alongside the careful adaptation of a third existing outfall. Together, these provide a robust and future‑proof drainage solution for the development.
To support future phases, manholes serving upcoming development plots are now complete. These have been installed to precise locations and levels, allowing future connections to be made without disrupting the main infrastructure.
Works are also advancing towards the water’s edge, with quayside service installations now underway and initial ducting routes being established. Meanwhile, foul drainage works across the site are approximately 80–90% complete, with most main runs and chambers already in place.
Once finished, these £3.75 million infrastructure works that are being funded through direct investment by Peel Waters, will play a vital role in unlocking future development, improving connectivity, enabling new homes and commercial spaces, and supporting long‑term investment at Yorkhill Quay and across Glasgow Waters.
