How to Use a Mechanical Lift
A mechanical lifting device is most commonly used to move those who are unable to stand on their own or whose weight makes it unsafe to move or lift them manually.
In this program Michael Boggs, an ergonomics specialist and occupational therapist, demonstrates a step-by-step procedure for moving someone from the bed to a wheelchair and from the wheelchair to the bed using a mechanical lift. He addresses safety concerns at each stage of the procedure.
