A traditional Vaishnava wedding, known as vivāha, following instructions as given in the shastra (ancient yogic texts) according to the Vedas.

The word vivāha translates to mean sacred union of people, (i.e. marriage), but rather than basing the ceremony on sentimentality, this ceremony is based on cosmic laws and advanced ancient practices.
