Dying My Hair BLONDE! (Black to Blonde)

After 19 years of never dying my hair, I finally did it for the first time...

I've always had black (or very dark brown) hair, and in the past year I've contemplated going blonde. It's taken me a long time to build up the courage to, but when one night my friend Maggie wanted to dye her hair silver I decided to just do it.

The process took quite a long time; we started at about 10PM and weren't done until 4AM. I had to bleach my black hair twice, then tone it once before we could even start dying it. After the first bleach my hair had a lot of bronze / orange to it, but bleaching it and toning it helped take that out. We ended up not actually using the 'sand blonde' hair dye that I got, because in our strip test it didn't really make any difference.

I am pretty satisfied with my bleached hair though. It's taking me a while to get used to, but I don't think it looks too bad. I've been using purple shampoo everyday to keep it from bronzing and to lighten it a little; and it's worked pretty good!
