TECH TIPS SUNDAY

1. Nail Gain Structure + HPF Everything**
Set each channel to peak around -18 to -12 dBFS before touching faders. Then high-pass filter every mic that isn’t kick or bass — vocals at 80-100 Hz, guitars 80 Hz, keys 60 Hz. This kills mud and gives you headroom before the service even starts.

2. Make Speech Crystal Clear**
Save a “Pastor Talk” scene: dip the band 8-12 dB, mute vocal FX, and bump the speaking mic +1 dB with 4:1 compression. Aim for 70-75 dBA during the message. If it’s harsh, cut 2-4 kHz instead of just turning down. Intelligibility volume.
3. Prep Like It’s Game Day**
Fresh batteries in all wireless before first service. Ring out monitors in rehearsal — max 3-4 EQ cuts or you fix placement instead. Label a spare cable/mic bin. The congregation only notices when tech fails, so boring prep is ministry.
