Audio Talk: Tone Controls. Use them, or No?

Here's another much debated subject on the audio forums, tone controls, should you use them? And why? My camera keeps annoyingly changing exposure while shooting video for some reason even though, I've got the ISO and aperture fixed, so sorry about that. I've got to figure it out soon because it's annoying me.
