Marcel Oberlaender - Simulations of sensory-evoked signal flow in 3D reconstructions of [...]

Marcel Oberlaender, Max Planck Florida Institute, USA.

Talk at INCF Multiscale Modeling Program Workshop: From cellular/network models to tissue simulation. Stockholm, Sweden May 31st - June 1st, 2012.
This talk provides a description of a semi-automated imaging and tracing pipeline which allows complete 3D reconstruction of dendrite and axon morphology of individual neurons labeled in vivo and an image processing pipeline that allows automated detecting of neuron somata within large brain volumes. In addition, an interactive, visual-computing tool that allows assembling average 3D network models and a concept that was developed to investigate signal flow within average network models using Monte Carlo simulations are discussed.
