Dr. Rex Hamilton, of the UCLA Laser Refractive Center, was the first surgeon in all of California and west of the Rockies to perform SMILE. SMILE, or SMall Incision Lenticule Extraction, is the next generation of LASIK. This minimally invasive procedure has had wonderful results and has been widely used worldwide for the past 4 years. With over 600,000 procedures performed, it was just approved by the FDA for use in the United States. Dr. Hamilton discusses the new procedure and answers common questions about refractive surgery.
