Victory Begins In The Dark

In this video, author and mental health educator Douglas Bloch shares an important principle about mental health recovery--that even when you are a stuck place and everything seems dark, change is still happening.

Just like when we plant a seed in our garden, although we can't see it, in the dark womb below the ground, the seed is germinating until it sprouts above the surface. One day, there is no plant. The next day it exists for all to see. One day you are stuck in a period of depression. The next day something occurs, often unexpectedly, that begins the process of lifting you out the darkness.
