Engineering works @ Killester, Dublin - 30th of April - 1st of May 2018

On Monday the 30th of April & Tuesday the 1st of May 2018. Irish Rail had the section of line between Dublin Connolly, Skerries & Howth closed due to major engineering work that needed to take place at Killester, the work involved was a major relay of the Southbound track.

The first part of the video shows the new track panels being lifted and bolted into place. Then once that was finished we follow the Spoil train from North Wall to Ashbrook at the end of the worksite before getting ahead of it back to North Wall.

The loco in charge of the Spoil was 071 class loco number 085

The second day more less features the tamping of the freshly laid track. I filmed the tamping at Collins Avenue & Killester Station

The tamper used was number 743.
