Atlas lathe Z-axis drive

Some time ago I watched a video by Mr Pete that displayed a z-axis drive he built for his Atlas lathe:

His premise is that the change gears do not allow you to slow the power feed down enough to get a nice finish. It’s been in my mind ever since.

A little bit of ingenuity and less then $50 I put together a z-axis drive for my Atlas 618 lathe.
