Pomba Gira comes from AFRO-Brazilian tradition where practitioners of Brazil would evoke her. Since she is legion, she is known by many names and she therefore has several avatars. She is most heavily associated with witchcraft, spirit possession, crossroads, graveyards and with the number seven. Pomba Gira is the personification of female POWER, sexuality, beauty and desire. She is often depicted as a gorgeous woman who has limitless desire. Her reputation for having great wrath makes people treat her with great respect and care. Sometimes Pomba Gira can have the characteristics of being talkative, promiscuous and even vulgar. However, when she manifests, she will take on the characteristics of the avatar that was called upon, and will have a strong inclination to display the behaviors of that avatar.
