The Washington Post reports that the Biden administration is expected to release as early as this week a U.S. intelligence report concluding that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman ordered the 2018 killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, citing people familiar with the matter.
This animation recounts the journalist's final moments based on transcripts of recordings first reported by CNN and Al Jazeera and later provided by Turkish officials to the UN.

"Instead, he was met inside by intelligence officer Maher Mutreb, who says, 'You are coming back', according to a CNN source who said they had read the full translated transcript of an audio recording of the journalist's final moments."
"Members of the hit squad are then believed to have set upon Khashoggi."
"The original transcript of the audio was prepared by Turkish intelligence services, CNN's source said."
