Orange Day in the Netherlands usually refers to King’s Day (Koningsdag) – one of the biggest national celebrations in the country. The Dutch royal family belongs to the House of Orange-Nassau, so orange is the national color. On this day, the whole country dresses in orange (“oranjegekte” = orange madness). One can see street parties, festivals, and live music everywhere. There are Open-air flea markets (vrijmarkt) where anyone can sell goods.
The Canals in Amsterdam are filled with boats decorated in orange.
