As Trump rails against voting by mail, this red state has embraced it

The pandemic has pushed people to paper, with tens of millions voting by mail in the 2020 election. It’s a new way of voting for many, and it’s never been under more scrutiny, especially after attacks by President Trump. But conservative Utah was a pioneer in vote-by-mail. We follow ballots here from start to finish, starting at printer in Phoenix then traveling to Provo and Utah County. As ballots drop into the mail, county elections officials are getting ready by unlocking drop boxes. Then, the vote starts to arrive. Soon, machines in the county's ballot counting center are humming as they scan, slice, shake, and finally tabulate ballots.
