Lancelin Dunes weekend getaway in October 2015

The weather here in Perth has become quite nice. Although summer here does not officially start until December, in some places there are already days when the temperature is over 30C. Of course this is just a pleasure, I do not want to go home for the weekend. So we decided to put our new ski (Saab 9-3 Cabrio) under the roof and drive it to a nice place.

120 km from the heart of Perth is a beautiful place worth visiting with its pleasant white sand beaches and snow white sand dunes. The name of the place is Lancelin. Such a small place known for its dunes (Lancelin Dunes), where you can go off-roading with different machines or surfing in the sand mountains.

Sand surfing is pretty hot there, the slopes are long enough that you can get a pretty good ride if you can. As with many natural phenomena, you get a much deeper feeling when you are here than when you look at the picture. In addition to the dunes, we also turned our attention to City Beach, which is located near the city. This was then one of the beaches that we had not yet reached. Otherwise, a normal beach, but the big waves gave me a good feeling, as you can see in the video.

Ilmad on siin Perthis juba päris ilusaks läinud. Kuigi ametlikult algab suvi siin alles detsembris, siis kohati on siin juba praegu selliseid päevi, kus temberatuur varjus on üle 30C. See teeb muidugi ainult rõõmu, nädalavahetusel ei tahakski kodus passida. Nii siis otsustasimegi oma uuel suksul (Saab 9-3 Convertible) katuse alla lasta ning kuskile ilusasse kohta draivida.

120 km kaugusel Perthi südamest asub üks ilus külastamist väärt koht, kus on mõnusalt valge liivaga inimtühjad rannad ning otse rannast sisemaa poole laiuvad lumivalge liivaga düünid. Koha nimi täpsemalt Lancelin. Selline väike külake, mis ongi tuntud oma düünide poolest (Lancelin Dunes), kus käiakse erinevate masinatega off-roadimas või siis liiva mägedel lauaga surfamas.

Sand surfing on seal päris popp, mäenõlvad piisavalt pikad, et saab päris hea sõidu teha, kui oskad. Nagu ikka paljude loodusnähtustega on, siis ka selles kohas kohal olles jääb hoopis sügavam tunne, kui pildilt vaadates. Peale düüne põikasime ka City Beachile, mis asub linna lähedal. See oli siis üks nendest randadest, kuhu me veel jõudnud polnud. Täitsa tavaline rand muidu, aga suured lained tegid tuju heaks, nagu ka videolt näha : )
