Swedish city Walks: Uppsala. City center to the kings tomb, 4k (Fyrisån till Gustav Vasa)

Come along for a 30-minute-long virtual walk in charming Uppsala. Filmed in 4k on a grey November morning 2019, this walk takes you along the river, through the city, into the medieval Cathedral and to the tomb of king Gustav Vasa and his wives (the two that died before him, Katarina av Sachsen-Lauenburg, and Margareta Eriksdotter are also in the monument). Gustav Vasa was king of Sweden 1523–1560 and is sometimes referred to as the founding father of modern Sweden.

Uppsala is about 40 minutes train ride from Stockholm and well worth a visit.

From www.destinationuppsala.se: “Uppsala is one of Sweden’s oldest cities, today one of Sweden’s four major cities and is world renowned for its universities, its magnificent cathedral and the legacy of Carl Linnaeus, among other things.”
