Toyota RAV4 2017 driver's side visor sun glare defect and makeshift fix

Is this too simple or do we need a more complicated solution?
The pillar doesn't allow the 2017 Toyota Rav4 to have a full visor for the driver. The sun glare is annoying and unsafe when you drive.
The easiest solution for me is to use a thick gauge plasticized paper (thank you Spectrum broadband ad) and attach it to the original visor with a rubber band. The flexible yet strong paper can withstand being pressed against the pillar when the visor is retracted.
