[TOP 30] US iTunes Kpop Chart 2018 [February Week 2]

Here’s how I make the chart:

1. Twice a day, once in the morning and once in the afternoon/evening, I enter the current US iTunes kpop top 100 into a spreadsheet. For each song I calculate 4 statistics: Peak, Average, #Days in top 100, and # of times at peak.

2. The Top 30 chart is calculated by the highest peaking songs of the week. If #31’s peak is the same as #30’s, then I will still include it because I don’t want to exclude a song from the chart based on any criteria other than it’s peak. This would also be the case for #32 and #33 and so forth if they had the same peak as #30.

3. If a song has been at it’s peak longer, then it ranks higher than a song with the same peak. For example, if Dramarama was #1 once this week, and Likey was #2 three times, Likey ranks higher than Dramarama.

4. If the song’s had the same # of times at peak, then I go to #days in the top 100. If a song spent more days in the top 100, it ranks higher. For example, Beautiful and Peek-a-boo both rank #1 4 times this week, but Peek-a-boo has only been in the top 100 for 2.5 days, and Beautiful has been in the Top 100 for 6 days. So, Beautiful ranks higher thank Peek-a-boo.

5. If two songs have the same peak, were at that peak the same number of times, and were in the Top 100 for the same number of days, I turn to the average rank of a song that week. For example, if Not Today and Save Me both peaked at #12, only once each this week, and were in the Top 100 all 7 days, I turn to the average rank. Not Today’s average rank is 17.14, while Save Me’s is 15.36. Therefore, Save Me ranks higher than Not Today.

I'm sorry if this is confusing. My intent here is to just show in a numerical, algorithmic way, what the most popular songs are on itunes on a weekly basis. Hopefully you can still enjoy the chart even if you don't understand it completely~
