Russian Hard and Soft Consonants (with exercises)

Most Russian consonants can be soft and hard. Soft Russian consonants are also called palatalized. In this video I explain how to pronounce Russian soft and hard consonants.

If you are an English-speaker, most likely you pronounce all Russian consonants as hard, because this is more natural in your first language. Learning how to pronounce soft consonants might be tricky but I'll give you some useful tips in this lesson as well as the exercises.

Please don't worry if you can't pronounce them perfectly right away, it takes time and practice to change your pronounciation habits.
