Remembering Jeremy Kane

On Aug. 6, 2021, U.S. Navy SEALs visited Rutgers University–Camden to remember Jeremy Kane, who was a U.S. Marine Corps reservist and a senior at Rutgers–Camden when he was killed while serving in Afghanistan.

Melinda Kane, Jeremy's mother and a Camden County commissioner, helped kick off the group's pushup salute before the SEALs began a flag run through Camden. The group included Navy SEAL Bill Brown Jr. CCAS'11, RLAW'14, who co-founded the campus organization Veterans for Education.

Rutgers–Camden is proud to be the first Purple Heart University in New Jersey. Learn more about our services for student-veterans: https://go.rutgers.edu/3aa2etg6
