18 year-old injured in Single Quarter shooting

A young man was shot over the weekend when a fight broke out between the victim's friend and a security guard at a shebeen near Single quarters in Katutura.
The 18 year old victim said he was trying to help his friend avoid an altercation with a security guard at a shebeen. During the commotion, the guard allegedly fired 5 shots, of which two pierced his right leg.
The victim was rushed to the Katutura Intermediate Hospital after sustaining serious injuries on his right leg. 1 of the 2 bullets was successfully removed from his leg while the other bullet remains in his leg.
The story made an interesting twist after Today on One spoke to the Namibian Police (NAMPOL). According to Inspector, Kauna Shikwambi, the victim is known for his violent tendencies and has had a couple of run-ins with the law in connection with his alleged affiliation with a notorious local gang, known as the Bokom Haram.
Shikwambi said the incident could have been avoided if the young men had listened to the security guard. No arrests were made yet, however, a docket has been opened and will be presented to the Attorney General for the final decision.
