Team Sukhan is a Pune-based group bringing together the gems of Urdu literature, Hindustani Classical Music and Sufi Music.
The program was created in the memory of Late Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Sahab.
It is a collection of the best works by various legendary Urdu poets and writers, making this rich heritage of Urdu poetry and artists accessible and perspicuous to the non Urdu speakers. Qawwalis, ghazals, storytelling (dastangoi) and recitation of nazms completes the flavour of the performance.
Here is a brief, curated section of the mind-blowing show, performed as a tribute to Late John Eliya Sahab.
Jashn-e-Rekhta is a unique festival, held annually in Delhi, which celebrates the spirit of Urdu language, literature and culture. The Jashn is organized by the Rekhta Foundation.
