Kathal aka Vegetarian Mutton aka Ichor Tarkari 📍Recipe is mentioned in the description box 📌📍

This vegan mutton is being consumed in almost every Indian household way before the vegan diet was introduced and it became popular. Even though Mutton is a prime holi dish at my home, i prefer Chicken Or Kathal because i do not have mutton.

Therefore this holi is dedicated to this vegetarian meat
I prefer the dry version, but you may make a jhol as well out of it.

Detailed Recipe is mentioned below 👇 📍📌

👉Marinate some cut kathal cubes with salt and turmeric. Keep it aside for an hour .

👉Pan fry / Deep Fry the kathal in mustard oil

👉In a pan, Heat Mustard oil, Add Black peppercorns, cumin seeds. Let it splutter . Then add chopped onions, green chillies as per spice tolerance and a dry red chilli along with ginger garlic paste.

👉Let it cook until the onions caramelise.
Then add Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder, Turmeric powder, Salt, cumin powder, Coriander Powder and let it cook for 2 minutes .

👉Then add tomato puree, mix it well and let it cover and cook for another 5 minutes . You may add water as well to make sure it does not stick to the kadhai.
👉Once the gravy is properly cooked, when it starts to release the oil, Add the fried kathal pieces.
Cover and let it cook for another 20-25 minutes. Keep adding water as per consistency required.

👉Remove the lid, garnish it with chopped coriander leaves and serve it with rice , puri or paratha ❤️🌶️
