How to use Index Match in Microsoft Excel

INDEX function helps to locate a cell in a table array based on row number and column number and return the value in that cell.
MATCH function helps us to find the row number and column number. It returns row number based on lookup value in a lookup array which in a column. It also returns column number based on lookup value in a lookup array which in a row.
INDEX & MATCH can perform two-way lookups by both looking along the rows and along the columns to find the intersection within a matrix.
Unlike VLOOKUP, which searches only to the right, INDEX and MATCH can look in both directions – left and right. Video related to VLOOKUP cab be accessed here
