Star Trails and Milky Way Photography at Feldberg Black Forest

How could I get more out of a night of astrophotography? In this Landscape Astrophotography experiment, I’m trying to see how many different types of shots I can get in one night at one location.

In this video, I’m doing some night photography at the highest point of the Black Forest (Schwarzwald), at a tower named Feldberg. One of the photos I’m trying to create is a Star Trail photo around the Feldberg tower. Besides that, I’m racing against time to also get some Milky Way photos in the bag.
It had been quite a while since I did some Milky Way photography, so it was really nice to be under the night sky again.

I hope you enjoy this little experiment and get some value from it. Whether you’re an astrophotography beginner or an expert, it’s always good to set a challenge for yourself, learn from it and figure out how to improve your astrophotography. So get out there under the night sky and photograph the Milky Way or photograph the stars!
