Planet Crafter part 8: How to (+) Prime Relaxed
Part 8: As you would know by now if you have been watching the prior parts of this video series, a primary requirement of the game is to explore the world you have been tasked to terraforming and use what you find to improve your avatars chances of surviving the environment. Since the planet has no atmosphere, is very cold, has no power grid, and is void of life, it is necessary to craft machines and devices that will provide power, oxygen, heat, power, and support plant life. Once those basic things are done in the best order possible with what you have available to craft into machines, the ice will begin to melt, the sky will turn blue, and rain becomes possible. Before the ice scattered about begins to melt, you will want to collect and store at least three large storage lockers of ice to use to make water. It will be a grind to collect that much ice to fill the lockers, but in the near future there will not be any ice within easy reach. You will also have a pressing need to find and store space food packets to satisfy your hunger until you can grow early game vegetables to eat.
Underground bunkers are a good place to find more items to collect that can be used to improve your avatar's chances of survival. You cannot use the underground shelters as a place to restore your avatar's vital needs, like oxygen, water, and food since you cannot provide kW (Kilowatts/power) for the machines and devices needed currently during gameplay. As stated before, it is a mistake to put storage devices inside the living quarters since you will need that space for machines and devices you cannot install outside. The power grid you install outside will provide power for any machines, or devices placed anywhere on the planet except some places will prohibit installing anything. Some caves have zones where no machine, or device can be placed. The vast majority of machines and devices you craft can be deconstructed and placed just about anywhere else on the map with a small number of exceptions. At first it will be easy to become lost, but in time you will remember landmarks that tell you where you are. You can place some objects, or devices to use as landmarks. End of Briefing.
