The Poem of Utu-Hegal — A 5,000 y/o Conflict — Sumerian (audiobook)

This is a text from ancient Mesopotamia (3rd–2nd millennium BCE), discovered by archaeologists among economic-religious inscriptions in the main cult center of the city of Kutha in southern Mesopotamia. It was translated by Assyriologists from Sumerian-Akkadian cuneiform tablets.

It reflects how a person sought to gain the favor of Nergal — the lord of the underworld — through an offering and binding obligations, hoping for protection in life and a favorable fate after death.
