São Pedro do Sul: Portugal's Spa Capital😍

Walking tour of São Pedro do Sul, a small city known for its thermal baths and mineral-medicinal waters, in central/northern Portugal. When the Romans arrived in the region, over 2000 years ago, they quickly recognized the therapeutic properties of the region's thermal springs. They founded a small settlement and named it "Balneum", the Latin word for "bath". Today, São Pedro do Sul remains an important center for thermal tourism, and is the largest spa center in Portugal. The origin of the thermal water comes from a large active tectonic fault that runs through this region. Thermal water emerges from deep within the earth with a temperature of 68.7ºC (156 ºF).
