Why Did Suspender/Garter Belts Only Have 4 Straps In The 1950s?

Today stocking aficionados always choose 6 straps over 4 when it comes to Suspender / Garter Belts but this wasn't always the case. During the heyday of stockings (40s-60s) it was extremely rare to find a belt with more than 4 straps. In this video I explain why.
