What They Don’t Tell You about E&O Insurance/Signing Agents/NSA are you really Covered?

Hi Guys,

The E&O Insurance that you received through the National Notary Association (NNA) does cover your General Notary Work. However, it does NOT cover you as a Signing Agent dealing with Real Estate Transactions (Signings). This is directly from the mouth of an employee from the NNA hotline!

Per the NNA's website:

3 Important Things To Remember About E&O Insurance
1. Notary E&O Insurance only covers acts as a Notary. It does NOT cover non-Notary tasks performed by Signing Agents, such as mailing closing checks or delivering completed loan packages.
2. Review your insurance policies so you know exactly what coverage you have — and what areas aren't covered.
3. If you think you need additional coverage, contact a qualified insurance broker for assistance.
