The Ice King floats above his castle on Polar Peak getting ready for his attack. It is time he makes good on his promise.

Many years ago, The Ice King was just a regular man on a far away island named Jaeger. He was a simple hunter for his tribe. One day on the hunt of a wild Trog, he meets a huntress named Fyra.

After dueling for the rights to the Trog, they agree they are equally matched and go off the Jaeger's camp to stay warm. Fyra dreams of leaving the island to see new things and get away from the ice and snow. They must seek out the mythical flying birds (aka X-4 Stormwings) created by "the man in red" (aka Sgt. Winter) Over the course of a year, Fyra and Jaeger get proposed, married, have a child named Snowfoot, and search for "the man in red".

They discover the plane and Fyra can't wait to fly it. Jaeger is skeptical, but Sgt. Winter promises she will be ok. Fyra begins to fly the plane, and she's a natural! Unfortunately, Krampus strikes. He uses magic to make the plane fail and Fyra crashes. Jaeger blames Sgt. Winter for Fyra's fall and makes Santa his mortal enemy.

After taking Fyra back to camp, Krampus shows up and convinces Jaeger to let him save Fyra. Krampus does, but it also turns Jaeger into The Ice King and Fyra into The Ice Queen. In order to survive, Fyra needs a world covered in snow.

Back in the present day, The Ice King begins his ritual. No the Ice Storm event is here! The Ice Queen awakens.
