Prisnac in Bribir: Celebrating Local Croatian Culinary Treasures 🇭🇷🥧

On Easter Monday, I had the pleasure of visiting sunny Bribir for the 3rd annual Festival of Bribir’s Prisnac – and what an incredible celebration of tradition, flavor, and local pride it was.

This beautiful little town in Vinodol Valley once again drew in food lovers, locals, and curious visitors for a day dedicated to Prisnac, a traditional savory pie made with local cheese, eggs, spring onions, and of course – love. ❤️

The square around the historic Turan tower was packed with colorful tables from local associations and families proudly sharing their unique variations of Prisnac. From the Bribir Pensioners’ Association to Boćarski Klub Bribir, and the ever-creative 5th graders of the Bribir Primary School, it was a joyful showcase of skill and heart.

One of the highlights? Hotel Keight from Opatija – a sponsor of the event and one of my absolute favorite hotels on the coast (run by the same people behind Katarina Line). They now serve Prisnac to their hotel guests at breakfast – and believe me, it’s a hit with travelers from all over the world.

From hearty traditional recipes to vegetarian versions made with chard and fennel, this festival isn't just a food event – it's a love letter to Bribir’s cultural soul. A big bravo to TZ Vinodolska općina for putting this on and for ensuring Prisnac gets the recognition it deserves.
