Phantom 3 loses control halfway chasing container ship (4K)

It's now golden hour and there are two ships on the horizon.

Both ships have slowed down on their route towards the Western Scheldt, waiting for a free port pilot to navigate the vessels to the port of Antwerp.

Engaged in conversation between flights, I was a bit less focused and this resulted in lost time on this flight. So while the plan was to see if I could chase both ships, it resulted in only a quick visit of the second vessel, the Paola.

The micro SD card was full at about 500 m in sea . At the same time I lost contact with the aircraft after which it already started returning home. I lost about two minutes cleaning up space on the SD card while the drone was heading home too soon.

While editing the video I noticed that I flew too close to the ship at one point. It's desirable for photographic reasons to keep a distance to the ship. It's in my experience also more challenging to film a ship that's practically lying still in the water, than to chase a ship at full speed.

For this flight I was joined by a friendly couple who enjoyed the whole experience.
