The Savoy Orpheans - All Of Me, 1931
All Of Me, Fox-Trot (Simons-Marks) – Savoy Hotel Orpheans with Vocal Chorus, Columbia 1931 (UK)
NOTE: This American evergreen was first sung in New York by Belle Baker and released over the radio. Later, it was recorded by Ruth Etting in Dec. 1931 to become one of the most performed songs of its era, with notable versions recorded during the 1930s by Russ Columbo, Bing Crosby, Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong, Mildred Bailey or Benny Goodman.
This is the early European dance version of “All Of Me”, recorded by the Savoy Hotel Orpheans directed by Carroll Gibbons - one of the best British dance orchestras of the 1930s. Unfortunately, I’ve been unable to detect name of that amazing British crooner, who’s singing with the band.
