How to Install a Kitchen Faucet DIY with Moen Pull down Faucet and the Ridgid EZ Faucet Change Tool
How to Install a new Single Handle Moen Kitchen Faucet, replacing the old leaking Glacier Bay faucet. I used the Ridgid 57003 EZ Change Faucet Tool in this video, which is nice to have but it's optional. I've provided a link in the description below if you are interested.
Other branded kitchen faucets would be similar but the specific model I used is the Moen 87599SRS
Most of the Moens that use the 1255 Duralast Single Cartridge will have similar installation steps.
Tools required for this job.
Screwdriver
Adjustable Wrench
Basin Wrench
(Optional)
Ridgid 57003 EZ Change Faucet Tool, Sink Wrench
Buckets
Rags
Steps:
1.) Turn off the water shut off valves
2.) Open the tap to let any water out
3.) Loosen the faucet to supply line nuts, here I used the Ridgid EZ Change Faucet Tool, but you can also use a plier/wrench/basin wrench to do the job.
4.) Remove the mounting nuts after they are loosened
5.) Remove the old faucet
6.) Remove the old supply line, I used the Ridgid EZ Change Faucet Tool, but you can also use an adjustable wrench.
7.) Put the Deck Plate Gasket onto the Deck plate, Firmly snap the Deck Plate Gasket onto the Deck Plate, then Place the Deck Plate on the mounting surface
8.) Install the Faucet into the hole on the sink
9.) Place the mounting bracket onto the threads of the faucet then install the mounting nut
10.) Use the Moen provided Installation Tool with a screwdriver to tighten the mounting nut
11.) Thread the Hose guide on to the end of the shank
12.) Attach flexible supply lines to the shutoff valves. I used an adjustable wrench here but you can also use the Ridgid EZ Change Faucet Tool if you like.
13.) Install the Pulldown Hose through the front of the spout
14.) From below deck, remove the plastic cap, then Install the pulldown Hose into the Outlet Hose, you should hear a click.
15.) Install the Hose weight just above the start of the loop but below the locator mark
16.) Turn on the water, then turn it on to clear any debris in the line, I apologize but I didn't film that part
17.) Remove the protective cap from the Spray Wand, then Thread it into the pull down hose , finally use pliers tighten it.
18.) Turn it on , test the faucet and check for leaks at all the connection points, and we are done!
