Classical Greek Home – 3D Reconstruction
Olynthus was abruptly destroyed in 348BC by Phillip of Macedon after allying with Athens. To some extent this is true, the houses are relatively undisturbed and provide a relatively unique look at the life of Ancient Greece before Hellenism swept through and marked the very end of the Classical age.
This model is the House of the Tiled Prothyon, a broadly higher class home (or Oikoi) of Olynthus, yet shows the same mix the public and private affairs of the family. Using finds reports and other comparable sites from Attica this model should bring this site to life.
This model has been a part of a dissertation on the 'Concepts of Religious Spaces in Athens' and their close connection to the rest of Athenian society. A full explanation for the comparisons between Athens and Olynthus can be found here (https://www.academia.edu/s/5609ac39b4?source=link).

Archaeological3D is the work of a postgraduate researcher from the University of Bristol. Focusing on the use of 3D modelling software to reconstruct archaeological sites.
Each model is designed to aid directly in research and communication. This begins to step away from the artistic to the visual representations whilst avoiding compromising on archaeological theory and methodology.
